The first full-blown, “10 out of 10” panic attack I ever had came one day when I was driving. It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life.
The panic attack started with an overwhelming sense of uneasiness and foreboding.
Then a jolt of adrenaline shocked me as my body prepared to escape from what felt like imminent danger.
My heart pounded. I couldn’t breathe. I was dizzy. Sweating. Shaking to the point that I was sure I was having a seizure.
And all for no reason.
It’s not like I had almost been hit by a truck, or there was a spider in the car.
(I really, really hate spiders.)
What I learned—and what I became
I managed to get home safely, but that panic attack was only the beginning of my journey with anxiety.
It’s been with me ever since, in many different forms.
It was the invisible hand gently but menacingly resting on the back of my neck, to the dark and evil shadow forcing me into a smaller and smaller corner of my life, anxiety has been there.
At my lowest point, I could hardly walk out my front door anymore.
I hated crowds of any kind.
I was depressed. And my relationship with my boyfriend crumbled.
But then… hope
A friend of mine lent me a book about essential oils, so I started reading.
I learned that they could help with so many different issues. That each oil had its own special qualities, and that each aroma did a different job.
Some were soothing; others were relaxing; still others were uplifting.
And so I started to dabble. My oils helped me feel that I at least had something—anything—on my side for the next time I had anxious feelings.
By “coincidence,” I found an aromatherapy school in my city.
Suddenly all the pieces fell together for me.
The universe was telling me it was time to change my story.
That I was MEANT to be working with oils as a way of empowering myself.
They had come to play such a major role in my life. The opportunity to learn more about them came along right when I needed it.
So how could I say no?
What I discovered about essential oils
I learned more essential oils and their chemistry. How to choose them to help me—and my brand new aromatherapy clients—with various issues.
My sense of being calm and in control began to grow.
I soon got back together with that boyfriend.
And with a newfound confidence I became a wife—and then a mother. (Twice over.)
I don’t do aromatherapy massage anymore. But in the past few years I’ve been watching my best friend flourish with an essential oil business. She’s a powerful leader who inspires people daily.
And now, with OilSimple, I’m working right beside her. I’m listening to the universe once again. Helping others make natural choices about their health and wellness.
Introducing them to the wonder of essential oils.
I still get scared sometimes. But it’s been a long, long time since I’ve had a panic attack.
And now I face each day with natural supports. Options for how I want to approach my health and my family’s health. Solutions that are as natural and safe as they are empowering.
Could essential oils help you in the same way?
I’m sure of it. You can always change your story, just like I changed mine.
And if you’d like, I can show you how.
